Dear Reader, You Are Not Alone
This post is a little different than our typical blog posts, but I feel it is important.
The tragedy that ensued this past weekend in Orlando is harrowing, our hearts go out to the victims, their families and the communities impacted by this tragedy.
Whenever a tragedy happens, we experience a multitude of feelings from anxiety to depression, overwhelm to sadness and anger to hopelessness. It is understandable to feel a sense of loss and despair during these times.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by the Orlando tragedy, please seek help. I’ve listed a few resources:
The Trevor Project- LGBTQ+ Youth Nationwide Helpline
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline- Nationwide Helpline
Samhsa- Nationwide Helpline
Through tragedies, we see the best of humanity come out- thousands of people have donated blood in Orlando, over two million dollars has been raised for the victims families, and a non-profit is opening its doors for the victim’s companion animals.
Please know you are not alone, and many people feel the same way you do. We will get through this together.
